Call for Nominations for President’s Awards for Professional and Administrative Distinction
To the VCU and VCU Health System Communities,
Virginia Commonwealth University is Virginia’s premier urban research university and is taking its place among our nation’s top 50 public research institutions. Our incredible success is a credit to many people, including my talented and dedicated colleagues among the staff and administrative and professional (A&P) faculty. Every day, in myriad ways, they demonstrate their commitment to excellence and outstanding performance in support of VCU and VCU Health’s mission to promote exceptional teaching, research, community engagement and patient care.
In that spirit, we inaugurated the Presidential Awards for Professional and Administrative Distinction. All awards will be given out at the Service Awards ceremony and reception to be held in October. The awards include:
The President’s Award of Excellence: This award is the highest honor we can bestow upon staff and A&P faculty and it recognizes one exceptional person for their contributions to VCU or VCU Health throughout their career.
The President’s Outstanding Achievement Award: This award recognizes two people who have exceptional performance in achievement, leadership and contributions that have resulted in significant benefits to the university or VCU Health within the realm of the employees’ jobs.
The President’s Service Excellence Award: This award recognizes two people who go above and beyond demonstrating outstanding service to students, patients, colleagues, and other customers of the university and VCU Health by displaying a positive attitude even under the most difficult circumstances.
You may submit your nominations for these awards here, where you will find additional information regarding the awards criteria and the online nomination portal. Please note that all nominations must be completed no later than August 25, 2017.
Our staff and A&P faculty are integral members of the VCU team who give so much to our university and commit themselves fully to supporting the university and VCU Health. Thank you for taking the time to nominate your colleagues for these special awards.
