Chief Diversity Officer and Advisor for ONE VCU Announcement
Dear Colleagues,
Aashir Nasim, Ph.D., has been named Chief Diversity Officer and Advisor for ONE VCU and will provide strategic leadership, oversight, and guidance across the university’s academic and medical enterprises to ensure that diversity and inclusion drive the organizational performance for the entire enterprise. Currently, Dr. Nasim serves as Vice President of Institutional Equity, Effectiveness and Success (IES), and Director of VCU Institute for Inclusion, Inquiry, and Innovation (iCubed).
Dr. Nasim previously served as VCU’s Interim Senior Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, Special Assistant to the Provost, and Department Chair of African American Studies. His innovative thinking and leadership have contributed significantly to VCU’s national prominence in diversity in higher education, with noted recognition from highly esteemed organizations, publications, and peer institutions.
