Battle for the Capital 2017
This Friday, VCU will take on the University of Richmond in the Battle for the Capital at the Siegel Center. With successful basketball programs and highly active alumni, the crosstown Atlantic-10 rivalry between the two schools is an admirable show of sportsmanship on and off the court.
The Battle for the Capital Alumni Giving Challenge is an excellent opportunity for VCU alumni to show school spirit and give to their university.
Integral members of the VCU family, alumni are responsible for cementing our position as an esteemed public research university known for community engagement. Giving — no matter the amount — ensures VCU ability to remain this way by helping fund scholarships, research, study-abroad opportunities and entrepreneurial efforts. I can confidently say the opportunities provided to students through alumni giving provides them with the world-class education they need to be productive and successful in their life after graduation.
I am incredibly thankful for the generous support of VCU alumni. The alumni I interact with on a daily basis and all over the nation reminds me of that makes Virginia Commonwealth University such a great place to live, work, learn, create, innovate, discover, graduate from — and give back to — VCU.
