Honoring our veterans
Today, we honor and thank veterans for their dedication and service to our country.
Virginia Commonwealth University is and always will be committed to educating and serving those who make our existence as a community possible. We are able to do this thanks to the generations of veterans that have given us a society where we’re free to think, create, innovate, and engage.
America’s research universities—this includes VCU—are the best in the world because we have the freedoms to be the best in the world. Our students are able to learn in an environment where differences are embraced. Educators are able to introduce new ideas that advance us. Veterans are the reason why we are able to do so.
As one of the nation’s Top 100 universities for veterans and because we are VCU, we work diligently to recruit and retain veterans and those with an active duty status. We understand and respect the needs of our veteran and active duty scholars.
Our veterans add so much to VCU and in turn, we learn so much from them. We are all better people because of this.
