Important message to the VCU community
An alert was sent to the Virginia Commonwealth University community today from VCU Police, who received reports of several sexual assaults at an off-campus weekend party involving VCU students.
While it is still early in the investigation, the strongest university sanctions will be imposed if wrongdoing is found.
The university will always provide the strongest support to survivors. We can do a lot to help and I encourage you to read the full alert (alert.vcu.edu) for comprehensive information on reporting and support resources.
I am deeply concerned about these reports, which are being handled with the highest level of care and seriousness. Sexual assaults, harassment and misconduct have no place at VCU and will not be tolerated.
