More than 30 School of Pharmacy students have been accepted to participate in 2015 outreach trips in Virginia.

According to third-year Pharm.D. student Serena Barden, 78 students – the largest pool to date – applied for positions on this year’s Mission of Mercy and Remote Area Medical teams. Team members were selected via a blended process combining student trip leaders with faculty Dave Dixon, Emily Peron and Evan Sisson and 2014-15 SOP resident Michael Kelly.

“The application committee was very impressed by the many talented students in our school who are committed to community service,” Barden said. She encourages students who were not accepted to apply again next year or to seek out other service projects in the meantime. (For more information, contact Sisson at [email protected] or 804-828-8076.)

“We appreciate your interest and commitment to serving people across Virginia!” Barden added as she announced the 2015 participants:
