VCU School of Pharmacy’s Tau chapter of Kappa Epsilon hosted the fraternity’s 49th Convention in mid-July at the Richmond Marriott downtown.

After the Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Dinner July 18, Dean Victor Yanchick delivered an address on the development of leadership qualities as the pharmacy profession evolves.

Tau chapter advisor Emily Peron, an assistant professor at the school, was on hand along with student members Anna Wu, Tina Lowe and Kathy Nguyen. Also among the attendees were SOP alumna Marianne Rollings (B.S. ’63), who has remained active in KE since her student days. She received a KE award for career achievement in 1988, the Unicorn Award in 1993 and the KE/Merck Vanguard Leadership Award in 1998.

During a memorial service earlier in the day, a rose was presented in the name of KE member and previous chapter advisor Amy Whitaker Rudenko (Pharm.D. ’98), who died May 25, 2013.  The fraternity is encouraging members to make donations to the Amy Rudenko Memorial Fund for future pharmacy scholarships.
