Cultural Competency for Behavioral Health Professionals
A new program created by the Office of Minority Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services was created to improve cultural competency for behavioral health professionals.
The course, Improving Cultural Competency for Behavioral Health Professionals, is comprised of four different courses:
- An introduction to cultural and linguistic competency
- Increasing self-awareness
- Increasing awareness of your client’s cultural identity
- Culturally and linguistically appropriate interventions and services
and takes approximately 5 hours to complete. The training is free.
