The Langston Center for Quality, Safety and Innovation recently hosted a lecture on “Critical care nurses’ experiences of withdrawal of treatment: A systematic review of the qualitative evidence,” presented by Nikolaos Efstathiou, Ph.D., MSc, RGN, PGCEd, a lecturer in the School of Nursing at the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom) and an adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa. Efstathiou focused on how to better understand the experiences of ICU nurses who care for patients during the process of withdrawal of life sustaining treatments.
