The VCU School of Nursing hosted the annual meeting of the Virginia Association of Colleges of Nursing (VACN) last week , bringing nursing deans from throughout the state to our building.

The VACN’s mission is to advance the quality of baccalaureate and graduate nursing education in Virginia in order to improve health care. Membership is comprised of institutions in Virginia offering programs leading to baccalaureate and higher degrees in nursing.

Between sessions at the annual meeting, Dean Nancy Langston, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, ANEF, led members in a walk through the labyrinth set up in the SON Garden.

Marie Chapin, M.S., RN, CPNP, and Jo Robins, Ph.D., RN, ANP-BC, AHN-C, CHTP, both assistant professors in the Department of Family and Community Health Nursing, installed the labyrinth to help with reflection and meditation during the Spring 2013 final exam week and the upcoming National Nurses Week.

Directions on using the labyrinth are posted on the door leading out to the SON garden.
