Students Present Service Learning Posters
NURS 416 Community Health student poster presentations were held on April 23 in the Student Lounge. The poster session represents the culmination of the students’ Service-Learning Projects and serves as their final clinical experience for the course. Student projects and corresponding faculty members included: birth companions for pregnant teens (Sue Lindner), planning and hosting the opening of the Hillside Resource Center (Marie Chapin), planning and hosting a basketball tournament and health resource fair with the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club (Dr. Melissa Gomes), developing and providing education on cyber bullying to school nursing staff in the Hanover County School District and hand hygiene for kindergarteners in the Hanover County School District (Cathy Kelly), preparing a heart-healthy lunch and education session for residents of Mosby Court (Fay Parpart), and providing education on advanced directives to residents of Dominion Place (Fay Parpart and Pamela Parsons). Below are scenes from the poster presentations.
