by flaggal
VCU students in the Community Health Nursing 416 class taught by Melissa Gomes, Ph.D., RN, assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Health Nursing, coordinated Family Fun Night at the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club on Thursday, April 26. The students provided an evening of fun activities and refreshments, while sharing important messages about bullying awareness and prevention. Activities included a short video made by the nursing students on how to deal with bullies. The partnership with the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club is one of several outreach projects coordinated through the school’s Community Nursing Organization. Below are scenes from the event.
