Virginia Health Care Foundation’s Mental Health Round Table
On August 16th, Dr. Victoria Menzies, Dr. Carleen DiMeglio, and Mrs. Elke Zschaebitz attended the Virginia Health Care Foundation’s Mental Health Round Table. It was an event attended by about 80 people from all over the state who work in Mental Health Services and administration/ key stake holders. The focus was on how the Affordable Care Act will effect behavioral health care and how educational institutions and mental health care agencies can train providers of the future and focus on integration of mental health and primary care. There was much discussion about how Psych NP’s can help increase access to mental health care in VA, as there is currently limited access to services.
Along with Mrs. Zschaebitz, Dr. Menzies, and Dr. DiMeglio, pictured below are VCU School of Nursing Preceptors Kathy Benham, M.A., L.PC from Fan Free Clinic and Marsha Green, PMHCNS/NP-BC from the Lloyd Moss Free Clinic.
