VNA Top 40 Nurses Under 40 Announcement
The VCU School of Nursing has been notified by the Virginia Nurses’ Association that two nurses from our faculty have been recognized among the top 40 nurses under age 40 in the Commonwealth. These nurses have been recognized for their visionary leadership; dedication to new knowledge, innovation, and research; professional nursing practice; superb advocacy; and their community engagement. Congratulations to Alison Montpetit, PhD, RN, critical care clinician and associate professor and Angela Starkweather, RN, PhD, researcher and associate professor. We also want to celebrate the recognition of two of our alumni employed by VCUHS: Kevin Shimp, BSN ’04, newly appointed nurse manager on acute care surgery and Joyy Intal, BSN ’96, MS ’03, nurse manager on Main 9 Central. We are proud to have you all as a part of the VCU School of Nursing community and look forward to more great things from you in the future!
