Across the Spectrum, a blog that showcases the scope of Virginia Commonwealth University’s $262 million research program, recently published an article about a diagnostic test for Parkinson’s disease, featuring research Jacob Jaminet, 2015 VCU Goldwater nominee and Honors College student, discussed in his Goldwater research essay.

“The causes of Parkinson’s remain unknown, and a cure is still elusive. What’s more, there is no standard diagnostic test for the disease. Researchers at Virginia Commonwealth University are working hard to change this,” the article says.

Jacob is continuing to pursue this research with Dr. Paul A. Wetzel (Dept. of Biomedical Engineering) through the Honors Summer Undergraduate Research Program (HSURP).
