The VCU School of Engineering will host inaugural speaker, Dr. Mildred Dresselhaus, on October 20, 2014 from 3:30-4:30pm in the Student Commons Theater. There will be a reception from 5-6pm in the East Hall Qimonda Atrium (East Engineering Building).

Mildred Dresselhaus, Ph.D., is an Institute Professor at MIT in the departments of Electrical Engineering and Physics. Her research over the years has covered a wide range of problems in condensed matter and materials physics. During her speech, Dr. Dresselhaus will focus on how her early career started, how setbacks led to discoveries, looking to the future, and some take-home messages.
