Biomedical Engineering Society names Priscilla Hwang, Ph.D. as a rising star

Priscilla Hwang, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University, has been named a Rising Star by the Cell and Molecular Bioengineering Special Interest Group (CMBE SIG) within the Biomedical Engineering Society. The Rising Star Award celebrates the achievements of emerging researchers and innovators in cellular and molecular bioengineering. It is given annually to a select group of exceptional junior principal investigators who provide a podium presentation in a special session at the CMBE SIG’s annual conference. The award recognizes Hwang’s outstanding work in cell and molecular bioengineering.
“I’m honored to receive this award and be recognized amongst so many other amazing early career faculty,” Hwang said. “From the conference, I was able to network with other bioengineers and we are developing new collaborations.”
