Four Ph.D. graduates from the VCU College of Engineering’s Department of Computer Science have accepted tenure-track faculty positions at research universities across the country. 

“From the inception of our computer science Ph.D. program in 2021, we have had immense success from our past and current students,” Preetam Ghosh, chair of the Department of Computer science, said. “Their achievements are a testament to the academic excellence and rigor found within the VCU College of Engineering, and we look forward to seeing their contributions to the future of computer science research in academia.”

Congratulations to the following Ph.D. graduates for their new positions:

Adeen Ayub
Ph.D. in computer science, area of research in industrial control systems security.
Tenure-track assistant professor at James Madison university.

Felipe Fronschetti
Ph.D. in computer science, area of research in software engineering and human-robot interaction.
Tenure-track assistant professor at Louisiana State University.

Mia Mohammad Imran
Ph.D. in computer science, area of research in software engineering, natural language processing and machine learning.
Tenure-track assistant professor at Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Pratip Rana
Ph.D. in computer science, area of research in biological network, biophysical modeling, and biological data analysis.
Tenure-track assistant professor at Old Dominion University.
