Networking can be intimidating. VCU Link empowers you to ask questions to industry leaders, who also graduated from VCU, without the need for direct outreach. The Ask Anything tool routes your questions to the most relevant alumni based on expertise, industry, job titles, education and more.
Whether seeking career advice, mentorship or specific guidance, Ask Anything simplifies connecting with the right people.
Step 1
Access the Ask Anything tool through the banners placed on the home, community or career path pages.
Step 2
Select the types of users you’d like to send your question to.
Step 3
Craft your question using templates or AI suggestions to ensure clarity. Add or adjust keywords that help the system identify the best responder for your question. You will also have the option to share your question with the wider alumni community.
Step 4
Submit your question.
After your question has been submitted, it will be sent via email to five relevant alumni, based on their profile data. They can either reply directly to the email or open an Ask Anything response page.
Once the question is answered, an inbox thread is created so you can easily continue the conversation in VCU Link.
