The latest news from Virginia Commonwealth University

Christine Delo (M.S.W.’04)  is a Licensed Clinician Social Worker (LCSW) for a rural community based mental health and substance use agency near the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

She had always heard about the social work program at VCU, while getting her degree at Christopher Newport University. She applied to VCU upon graduation where she got her master of social work degree in one year, instead of two.

Christine is married with one daughter and has an Australian Shepherd named Bella. She enjoys VCU basketball, camping and traveling.

How did VCU prepare you for what you do and who you are today?

VCU helped prepare me for my LCSW test and gave me the knowledge and experience to work in the mental health field.

What excites you about participating in the Hampton Roads chapter?

I enjoy getting to know other Alumni and networking with others. I also enjoy the social and community events that the chapter has to offer. I enjoy talking with future VCU students about the college experience and life after college. The chapter has given me the opportunity to connect with others in my community.

I am looking forward to seeing the local chapter grow.

Why should alumni stay connected with VCU?
Alumni should stay connected because there are many volunteer and skill opportunities that one can contribute to the chapter.
