The women’s team plays March 6-10 in Henrico, Virginia, while the men’s team returns to NYC, March 12-17. Show your support for our Rams at pregame receptions prior to their first games.

Pregame Receptions

Men’s A-10 game

VCU Alumni hosts a pregame reception 2½ hours prior to the VCU men’s first session. Celebrate VCU’s return to NYC with food and drink, camaraderie and swag. Black Forest Brooklyn is a family-friendly German restaurant and beer garden with a warm and casual vibe, serving homemade regional specialties and a unique selection of German draft beer, wines and craft spirits.

When: Date and time to be determined based on A-10 conference play. Reception begins 2½ hours before the first men’s basketball game.
Where: Black Forest Brooklyn and the Fritz, 733 Fulton St., Brooklyn, NY 11217 (nearest subway station is Atlantic Avenue – Barclays Center or Lafayette Avenue)
Cost: $20. Ticket includes a two-hour open bar, buffet and VCU swag.

Women’s A-10 game

Get ready for the ultimate celebration, Ram fans! Witness the electrifying journey of the VCU’s women’s basketball team as they charge into the A-10 tournament at the Henrico Sports and Events Center. Let’s turn up the excitement with an unforgettable pregame bash with exclusive swag.

When: Date and time to be determined based on A-10 conference play. Reception begins 2½ hours before the first women’s basketball game.
Where: Intermission Beer Co. – Brewpub and Arcade, 10180 Lakeridge Parkway #114, Ashland, VA 23005
Cost: $15. Ticket includes one drink ticket, food and VCU swag.

Fan Headquarters

Prior to each VCU game, hang out and enjoy VCU camaraderie.

When: Before each VCU game (except the first game)
Cost: Free; enjoy VCU swag and hang out with VCU alumni and fans.

NYC Chapter and AAAC A-10 Happy Hour

The African American Alumni Council and NYC Chapter host a late-night happy hour after all the A-10 games on Thursday. Join us in this iconic Brooklyn restaurant, only a block away from Barclays Center. Attendees receive one drink ticket.

Brooklyn Food, History and Culture Tour

Join VCU Alumni for a guided food tour while indulging in some of Brooklyn’s best cuisine. You can try new American and Italian food, including pastries, cheese and bread. Listen to commentary on the culinary history of the neighborhood.

Brooklyn Museum’s ‘Giants’ Exhibit Tour

Take a guided tour of “Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys” at the Brooklyn Museum. This first major exhibit of the Dean Collection, highlights a selection from the couple’s impressive holdings of modern and contemporary art, including works by Gordon Parks, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Lorna Simpson, Kehinde Wiley and Nina Chanel Abney.

Brooklyn Brewery Tour

Join VCU Alumni for a tour of one of Brooklyn’s oldest breweries that serves beers to over half the States and over 30 countries. The tour covers brewing science, beer history, Brooklyn Brewery’s story and much more.

Make It a Double

The NYC Chapter and the College of Humanities and Sciences invite H&S alumni to enjoy an exclusive night of cocktail making and networking. Alumni have the opportunity to make a unique VCU-inspired cocktail and connect with one another.

VCU on Broadway: ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’

Enjoy the Broadway musical “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” Afterward, meet VCUarts alum John Alix (B.F.A.’04)  for a Q&A where he talks about his role in supporting the production’s musical choreography.
