The latest news from Virginia Commonwealth University

Meet Tyler Robin, the new chapter leader for the New York City Chapter serving the tri-state area. Tyler graduated from VCU in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences. After graduation, she moved to New York City to work for NBCUniversal.

“I chose VCU because of its diversity. I was also fortunate to have the opportunity to be on the women’s track and field team, which was my favorite part of my VCU experience.”

Robin is a part of the NBCUniversal Page Program, which exposes participants to the operations of large media companies. In this role she has worked on a variety of well-known television programs. She has also produced content for the USA channel social media accounts.

“My favorite part of working at NBCUniversal is having the opportunity to play a part in the success of major TV shows and social events like “Saturday Night Live,” BravoCon and the Business of Women’s Sports summit.”

Rams in the tri-state area should get involved in the NYC Chapter, she says, “because we have some great events and networking opportunities lined up. It is important to have community and a network. What better way to build it than with other alums in the city?

“I’m especially excited about an upcoming private movie screening at Nitehawk Cinema in Brooklyn. Save the date for July 15, and follow the chapter on Facebook for details.”

Her favorite restaurants are Bar Primi on the Lower East Side, Melba’s in Harlem, Yafa Cafe in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, and Fuyu Ramen and Sake in Sunnyside, Queens.
