The Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Business Institute for Transformative Leadership (ITL)extends an invitation to all VCU faculty and staff to join the upcoming ITL Transformative Leadership Spring 2024 Cohort Program. Beginning Feb. 16, the seven-week virtual series will convene every Friday for one hour at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. EDT, excluding March 7 and 29.

Cohort facilitators include:

  • Chris Reina, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Founding & Executive Director, ITL
  • Brian Wellinghoff, VCU Business’ Executive in Residence, Senior Director of Leadership and Outreach, Barry-Wehmiller, Co-Founder, Humanistic Leadership Academy
  • David Pickersgill, Learning Outreach Program, Barry-Wehmiller

The program will concentrate on practical leadership principles and create a supportive community. Participants will have opportunities to build connections and learn from one another, share collective wisdom and strategies and integrate people-centered leadership principles into their work and personal lives.

“These cohort programs allow for us all to support one another in putting compassion and care at the center of our employee, student and patient experience so that we can further transform our VCU system and unleash higher levels of well-being, trust and compassion in our world,” said Reina.

Following the success of the fall 2023 cohort, which saw the completion of 35 participants from across campus, the spring 2024 program looks to build on this success to include an even more diverse range of backgrounds.

Participants can expect engaging sessions each week, covering topics such as:

  • How to Embrace and Create Vulnerability – Listening and Appreciation
  • Care and Accountability
  • Reflection and Mindfulness
  • Living Out Transformative Leadership
  • Networking and Finding Allies

The program offers flexibility, with recorded sessions available for catch-up if needed. Completing the cohort earns participants a Transformative Leadership Level 1 Digital Badge, recognizing their commitment to personal and professional growth.

Spaces are limited, and early registration is encouraged. Interested individuals can apply for the spring 2024 Cohort by completing the ITL Transformative Leadership Cohort Program interest form.
