9 a.m.

Join the Office of Alumni Relations and Students Today Alumni Tomorrow to learn how your VCU experience has benefited from donor generosity. A Students Today Alumni Tomorrow team will be at the Compass from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and at the Jonah L. Larrick Student Center, 900 Turpin St., from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. to guide students through a series of fun activities to earn a T-shirt. Then, travel around campus on a hunt for “tagged” buildings and spaces, take photos and share them on Instagram for the chance to win a prize. For more information, contact Connor Smith at

Taiko (Japanese Drumming) Workshop

4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Join members of Heian Daiko, River City Taiko and Sora Daiko in a participatory drum workshop. VCU Ethnomusicologist and Assistant Professor of Focused Inquiry Paul Yoon, who has over 20 years of drumming experience starting with Soh Daiko in New York, will lead the group. The workshop will be co-facilitated by Audrey Short, formerly drumming with Manhattan Taiko and currently Interim Assistant Director of Academic Programming, VCU Globe. Advanced Chamber Ensembles in Concert
