MCV Campus Highlight: Larrick Student Center
First opened in 1961, the Jonah L. Larrick Student Center reopened November 2, 2009, after extensive renovations. This completely rebuilt facility features conference rooms, ballroom space, Starbucks, Jonah’s and USC&A offices. In addition, the new main entrance to the MCV Campus Recreation and Aquatic Center is open, with RecPass access available at the turnstiles. Larrick Student Center also features ample indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate diners and small gatherings.
Designed to combine study areas and larger meeting spaces with food and fitness, students and staff alike will enjoy features like an expanded & enhanced fitness center with cardio and free-weight equipment, 2-court gym for basketball, volleyball and badminton, racquetball courts, and a 25-meter heated indoor pool & whirlpool spa.
The main entrance is located near the compass at 9th and Turpin Streets, providing convenient access to Cabaniss Hall, Low Rise residence halls, and the 8th Street parking deck, and a short walk from the VCU Campus Connector’s stop at the MCV Campus B&N Bookstore.
Jonah’s, a food court style dining facility, offers a wide variety of dining options, including fresh salads, homemade bread, pizzas, comfort foods and decadent desserts. Starbucks will have all of your favorite coffees, bakery treats and blended beverages.
The Larrick Center is an excellent resource for students on the MCV campus. To view a list of upcoming events or to book an event within the facility, please visit the University Student Commons & Activities website.
