Mariah Crilley, Ph.D., Assistant Vice Provost for University Interdisciplinary Programs and Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affair earned a standout honor at VCU’s 43rd Annual Faculty Convocation!

Dr. Crilley has revolutionized University College curriculum by launching two exciting new interdisciplinary minors, Mixed and Immersive Reality Studies and Practical AI, that bridge colleges and promote student success across diverse backgrounds. Her work has significantly boosted transfer enrollment and supported nontraditional learners.

Her innovative teaching and leadership did not go unnoticed. The 2025 Outstanding Term Faculty Award recognizes her stellar contributions to curriculum innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

This is a moment to celebrate. Here’s to the bold visionaries like Dr. Crilley who are reshaping how we learn and connect across disciplines at VCU.
