Applications are now open for the VCU School of Public Health’s Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in Health Communication program.

After announcing a new concentration and online program this year, the Master of Public Health program adds another option for its incoming students: a concentration in health communication.

This concentration will help students build the foundational knowledge necessary for a public health practitioner to both communicate the core of public health knowledge and express the design, results and interpretation of various public health interventions, evaluations and data collection and analysis efforts to a variety of potential audiences.

This is the fifth concentration in the School of Public Health’s M.P.H. program, which includes concentrations in applied public health, cancer prevention and control science, epidemiology, and health policy.

“At VCU, our M.P.H. program and this health communication concentration prepare the next generation of professionals to lead, combining communication strategy, behavioral science, and public health practice to create lasting impact,” said Sunny Jung Kim, Ph.D, associate professor of social and behavioral sciences.
