Congratulations to M.S.W student Jasmine Turner for receiving the 2014-2015 Mel C. Whipple Scholarship.

Established by Mel C. Whipple (M.S.W. ’72), an alumna who maintained successful private practice in the Richmond, Virginia area. This scholarship supports an M.S.W. student who exhibits a demonstrated understanding of African-American culture and an interest in pursuing a career in clinical practice in mental health.

Jasmine is passionate about areas that include mental health, domestic violence and sexual assault. Her career goal is to work with families and children whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence.
