On Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, Yvonne P. Haynes, LCSW, will be recognized for her Outstanding Contributions To The Profession at the Virginia Commonwealth University Alumni Volunteer Services Awards.

Yvonne P. Haynes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who currently serves as Director of Mental Health at the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority in Richmond, Virginia. She received her education from Howard University in Washington, D.C. and from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.  Haynes has also served as the Clinical Coordinator of the Behavioral Health Unit of a mid-sized urban hospital in the city of Richmond. She has over 25 years of experience in the field of mental health, during which time she has made frequent presentations to state and local conferences and served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations, including the YWCA and the United Way. She is also the recently elected Vice-chair of the State Board of Social Work, having been appointed to the board in 2010 by Governor McDonnell. Haynes is also a university-level educator, having served as an adjunct faculty member of the VCU School of Social Work for over 15 years.
