In her professional work, Jaime finds that creating authentic and and transparent relationships with her clients help them to find the best services for their unique situation. The first step is helping clarify all the different options that exist, including how we can ensure our environments at home support our safety and wellbeing. Meet our Special Guest!
Jaime Smiley is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, senior advisor, healthcare consultant and educator. A 2001 graduate of VCU’s occupational therapy program, Jaime has dedicated her career to promoting health and independence with seniors in the community. She works with Benchmark Senior Solutions providing assistance to those searching for assisted living and memory care communities. She also works with Limitless Design and Build offering aging in place as well as home modifications assessments. She serves as adjunct professor in VCU’s occupational therapy department as well as South University’s occupational therapy assistant program. Jaime served as an American Occupational Therapy Association Advisor on Skilled Nursing Policy, was the AOTA nominee to the Coronavirus Commission for Safety and Quality in Nursing Homes, and named a 2021 McKnight’s Veteran VIP Woman of Distinction.
