Letter of Recommendation File (LOR) Service Fee
General Information
There is a $20.00 application fee to utilize the Letter of Recommendation (LOR) file service provided by VCU Pre-Professional Health and STEM Career Advising. The LOR file service will collect and electronically transmit a students’ letters of recommendation packet to their desired centralized application services upon the student’s request. Letters of recommendation collected through the LOR file service are valid for the current application cycle only.
VECollect is the letter of recommendation platform that VCU uses to electronically collect LOR’s from a student’s evaluator. Your VECollect account must be activated before letters can to be submitted by your letter of recommendation writers.
Activation of your VECollect Account
In order to activate your VECollect account, students should mail a $20 check or money order payable to: Virginia Commonwealth University along with 2021 Admission Cycle Pre-Health Advisory Committee Credentialing Fee Payment Form to the VCU Cashier’s office and complete online Credentialing Fee Mailing Verification Form.

Payment Processing Information
Payments will be processed within 10 business days from receipt by the VCU Cashier’s Office. Incorrect information and/or incomplete information will delay the processing of your payment. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the timeline for processing of payments may be extended. To address any processing delays, please complete “Credential Fee Mailing Verification Form”
A $50.00 returned check fee will be imposed by VCU Treasury Department.
Letter of recommendation packets will not be transmitted to centralized application services if Credential Fee has not been received by Cashier’s office.
Letter of Recommendation File Service Only Deadline
If you are requesting your letters of recommendation to be transmitted via the File Service through VECollect and do not wish to participate in the Pre-Health Advisory Committee, payments with the 2021 Admission Cycle Pre-Health Advisory Committee Credentialing Fee Payment Form are due by August 31, 2020 at 4:00pm EST. Additionally, students must complete a Credentialing Fee Mailing Verification Form.
