The VCU School of Nursing participated in the Annual Mosby Health Fair held earlier this week to promote the health of the Mosby community, as well as celebrate the Mosby Resource Center’s first anniversary. The event included free health screenings, activities for children, giveaways and snacks. SON students, led by Fay Parpart, M.S., RN, ANP-BC, AACRN, assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Health Nursing, staffed several tables to share health information with attendees. The Women’s Health Nursing Organization also distributed information at the event.
A collaborative effort between the VCU School of Nursing, the Richmond Health District, the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority and the Mosby Tenant Council, the Mosby Resource Center offers services to promote health and wellness, including screenings, checkups and nutrition information. VCU nursing students perform clinical services at Mosby and other RRHA resource centers as part of their required course work.
