Kristin Filler Wins ACS Scholarship
Doctoral candidate Kristin Filler, (B.S. ’09), RN, has been awarded an American Cancer Society Doctoral Degree Scholarship in Cancer Nursing. This scholarship is awarded to graduate students pursuing doctoral study in the field of cancer nursing research, and preparing for careers as nurse scientists. Initial awards are made for up to two years with the possibility of a two-year renewal. The award includes a stipend of $15,000 per year. Filler’s faculty sponsor for the scholarship is Debra Lyon, Ph.D., RN, FNP-BC, FNAP, FAAN, the Judith B. Collins and Joseph M. Teefey Distinguished Professor
and chair of the Department of Family and Community Health Nursing.
