Nursing Faculty Participate in Research Study on Dogs in the Workplace
Nancy McCain, D.S.N., RN, FAAN, Nursing Alumni Endowed Professor, and Rachel Cobb, M.Div., Ph.D., RN, collateral research associate professor, were part of a recent VCU biobehavioral research study about dogs in the workplace. Led by Randolph T. Barker, Ph.D., professor of management in the VCU School of Business, the study found that dogs may make a positive difference in the workplace by reducing stress and making the job more satisfying for other employees . Cobb participated in the study as a biobehavioral research fellow and co-authored the article published in the March issue of The International Journal of Workplace Health Management. McCain served in an advisory role for the laboratory assays during the study. The results of study were mentioned locally on Channel 12 news. Click here to read the VCU announcement.
