This is public notice that the VCU School of Nursing will undergo a virtual site visit on March 24-26, 2021 conducted by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for accreditation of its B.S., M.S., DNP and post-master’s certificate (PMC) programs. The VCU School of Nursing was last accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) in 2016.

CCNE will evaluate the school’s compliance with nationally established standards for the each degree program. CCNE holds nursing schools accountable for addressing its community of interest; evaluating the success of the nursing programs in achieving its mission, goals, and outcomes; assessing the extent to which a nursing program meets accreditation standards; informing the public of the purposes and values of accreditation; and fostering continued improvement in nursing programs and, thereby, in professional practice.

Persons with pertinent and valid information about the VCU SON’s B.S., M.S., PMC, or DNP programs may provide written comments directly to CCNE.

How to Submit Comments:

Submit written third-party comments regarding programs to CCNE no later than 21 days prior to the first day of the scheduled virtual evaluation. Only signed comments are accepted by CCNE. CCNE shares third-party comments with members of the evaluation team prior to the visit, but at no time during the review process are these comments shared with the program. During its review of the program, the evaluation team considers third-party comments that relate to the accreditation standards. All third-party comments submitted to CCNE must be written in English, consistent with CCNE’s policy on Conduct of Business in English.
