SON faculty, students and alumni receive Week of the Nurse awards and scholarships
Several School of Nursing faculty, students and alumni were recognized at various VCU Health events to mark National Nurse’s Week. Jeanne Walter, Ph.D., RN, FAAMA, clinical assistant professor, was the recipient of the VCU School of Nursing Excellence in Teaching Award during the VCU Health 2016 Week of the Nurse ceremony held in the Medical Sciences Building auditorium.
Several students and alumni received scholarships at a ceremony and tea hosted by Nursing Services. Student recipients included Erin Pacelli, master’s degree candidate, Barbara Farley White Scholarship; Megan Grizzard, family nurse practitioner student, Barbara Farley White Scholarship; Victoria Tedeschi (B.S.’12/N), family nurse practitioner student, Barbara Farley White Scholarship; and Katherine Whitesell, RN to B.S. student, Bernal RN to B.S. Scholarship. Alumni recipients included Elizabeth Nottingham (B.S.’00/N), Carol Crosby Excellence in Nursing Administration
Scholarship and Tammie Shatzer (B.S.’02/N), Andrea Georgette Cheek Scholarship.
In addition, Andrew Peterson (B.S.’16/N) received the 2016 Excellence in Interprofessional Recognition Award during another Week of the Nurse ceremony. View more photos on the school’s Facebook page.
