Alumna Mamoona Arif-Rahu’s Research Featured in MD News Article
Mamoona Arif-Rahu, RN, CCRN (Ph.D. ’10/N), clinical nurse specialist in critical care at VCU Medical Center, was featured in an MD News story on her recent study published in the American Journal of Critical Care. Arif-Rahu was the lead author of a study on how certain facial muscles may help assess pain in critically ill non-communicative patients. Both Mary J. Grap, Ph.D., ACNP, FAAN, Nursing Alumni Distinguished Professor and co-author of the study; and Deborah McGuire, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, associate dean of research and the Florence E. Elliott Professor, were quoted in the article for their research.
