VCU School of Nursing Students Participate in Greater Richmond Project Homeless Connect
On Thursday November 17, VCU School of Nursing students Hannah Folmer, Morgan Harrison, Ben Holt, Stacy Hosenfeld, Misty Munson and Claire Steindam participated in the Greater Richmond Project Homeless Connect. The students, as part of Health Assessment Nursing 261 taught by Sue Lindner, MS, RNC partnered with the VCU Schools of Dentistry and Pharmacy to deliver basic healthcare to many of Richmond’s homeless population. Students received a lot of direct patient experience and performed blood sugar tests, took blood pressure readings and helped to dispense ibuprofen to those who needed pain relief following dental procedures.
