Dr. Debra Lyon Recognized as Alumni Star
The School of Nursing’s Debra E. Lyon, Ph.D., RN, FNP-BC, FNAP, professor and chair of the Department of Family and Community Health Nursing, was among 11 VCU/MCV alumni honored recently as one of the 2011 Alumni Stars at the Richmond Marriott. The VCU and MCV Alumni Associations name alumni stars each year to honor outstanding alumni for their humanitarian achievement, professional achievement, community service or university service.
Dr. Lyon is the Collins-Teefey Distinguished Professor in the School of Nursing. She has conducted NIH-funded research in areas that include symptom management in women with breast cancer and complementary and alternative therapies for symptom management.
