Una Vida Sana is a service learning student organization that provides health screening to the Hispanic community in Richmond. Students from the Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy work with faculty from each school, language interpreter students from the VCU Health System, and the lay health promoter program from CrossOver Ministries, Inc. to provide health screening and health promotion education. The Una Vida Sana project is funded by a Council on Community Engagement grant from VCU. The Una Vida Sana group will hold their first screening event at the Imagine Festival, an annual community festival organized by the City of Richmond, Hispanic Liaison Office. The event will be held at Broad Rock Park from 12-5PM.
