Faculty Technology Advisory Committee
With the help of the Faculty Senate and the Office of the Provost, we recently established the Faculty Technology Advisory Committee (FTAC) in order to ensure faculty involvement in major technology decisions and to allow for faculty feedback and advice to be better integrated into central information technology services and operations.
Chaired by Valerie Robnolt, the committee comprises faculty from across both campuses. Ex officio members of the committee include Colleen Bishop, Director of Academic Technologies, Alex Henson, Chief Information Officer (CIO), Mandara Savage, Executive Director of VCU Online and ALT Lab, and Kim Case, Director of Faculty Success.
Most recently FTAC has helped inform multiple aspects of the transition from Blackboard to Canvas and is now beginning to discuss hyflex instruction and its implications for classroom/instructional technologies.
