Put Some Tech in Your T&L

How we Got to Turnitin
Safeassign is a plagiarism tool owned by Blackboard and integrated with the VCU Blackboard environment. Academic Technologies was tasked with finding a suitable plagiarism tool for Canvas.

A request for proposal (RFP) committee was formed and included two representatives from Academic Technologies, two instructional designers (one from each campus) and a Faculty Senate representative.  After evaluating several vendors and their products, the committee recommended Turnitin.

This was then approved by IT Governance and once VCU Procurement finalized the contract and completed the purchase in late Fall 2020, Turnitin was installed and configured to work with Canvas.
