Data Migration to Blackboard’s Managed Hosting Facility Complete at 11:45pm, 1/2/14
The migration of all VCU Blackboard data to Blackboard’s Managed Hosting Facility was completed, and the system was brought back online at 11:45pm. Thorough testing was performed to verify system functionality, and that all courses, enrollments and data are intact. In order to meet our deadline for having the system available for use by midnight, the following tools have not been configured yet, but should be ready on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014:
- iClickers
- McGraw-Hill Connect and Create
- Respondus LockDown Browser
- SoftChalk Publish with ScoreCenter
You will still access Blackboard from the same places you always have, but “behind the scenes” you will be automatically redirected to the new Blackboard-hosted servers. It does take a little time for the redirect to thoroughly propagate, so if you happen to be redirected to the Learning Systems blog during this transition, you may use this link to access Blackboard: https://vcu.blackboard.com
