RAMS-IRB Update is Complete

RAMS-IRB was updated on January 30th.  Thanks for your patience as we’ve worked to complete the updates.

Here’s what you need to know:

  1. New studies that were in a state of “PI Action” before the patch have reverted to IRB staff statuses in order to map IRB Comments to the appropriate sections of the revised smart form.  IRB staff will return these to PIs as quickly as possible.
  2. New studies in development are now on the revised smartform. Review your study submission carefully before submitting to the IRB.  There may be new questions you need to answer, and some questions may have changed.
  3. Amendments created after the patch will force conversion to the new smartform.  If your study is eligible for review under the 2018 Common Rule, we’ll make the change at the same time. Check out conversion resources here. If you don’t otherwise amend your study, ORSP will ask you to submit an amendment to convert to the new smartform 6 months prior to expiration of your current approval.
  4. We expect a large increase in submissions in the first few weeks after the RAMS-IRB Update.  Please be patient as we work through the submissions.
