Important Housing Returner Process and Updates for 2024-2025 Academic Year
We hope you have had a successful fall semester. Room selection for returning students will begin when the housing application opens on Monday, Jan. 22, 2024 at noon, the application can be accessed here. You can check out on-campus options using our virtual tour, here. Anyone who wishes to participate in room selection must complete the application by Feb. 9 at noon.
Starting this year, same-room and same-building room selection will no longer be an option in the returning student selection process. This year the process will begin with the Transform Living Learning Community (LLC) selection processes and then transition to the general room selection process. Please see the selection timeline below:
- Jan. 22: Returning Student Application Opens
- No prepayment required
- Feb. 9: Returning Student Application closes
- Returning students must complete an application to participate the process, but are not bound to the contract unless they select a room
- Feb. 15-20: Transform LLC Room Selection
- Returning Transform LLC students will select rooms on Feb. 15 and 16, and new Transform students will select rooms on Feb. 19 and 20
- Feb. 23: General Room Selection Time Slot information sent via VCU email
- Returning students who have a completed an application but did not select a room during the Transform LLC process will receive an email with a date and time they can log in to participate in room selection
- Feb. 27-March 1: General Room Selection
- Rising sophomores will be assigned selection time slots on Feb. 27 and 28, and rising juniors and seniors will be assigned selection time slots on Feb. 29 and March 1
Please be aware that on-campus housing spaces are limited and we cannot guarantee that everyone who participates in the room selection process will be able to select a room.
