Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering graduate programs among top ranked.

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) College of Engineering now has two graduate programs ranked among the best graduate schools: biomedical engineering and mechanical engineering, according to the 2023 rankings by U.S. News & World Report. The college’s nuclear engineering graduate program has also been ranked No. 20 in the nation by the same evaluation. This ranking marks the third consecutive year biomedical engineering has made the list.

Designed for prospective students looking to further their education beyond college, the Best Graduate Schools rankings evaluate programs in a variety of disciplines, including business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing.

“This ranking by U.S. News and World Report gives VCU Engineering much to celebrate. Our mechanical and biomedical engineering programs are ranked among the best graduate programs,” said Barbara D. Boyan, Ph.D., the Alice T. and William H. Goodwin, Jr. Dean of the VCU College of Engineering. “Our nuclear engineering graduate program ranks No. 20 in the nation, an outstanding achievement.”
