Lyndon F. Cooper | School of Dentistry

Over the past year we have been evaluating the administrative structure and functions or the School of Dentistry practices.    The goals for this review were to improve the operational efficiency, improve the patient experience relative to practice interactions, and increase patient volume and retention.   Improving communications between and among the various practices is critical to the continued vitality of our practices.   I have decided to appoint Ms. Roberta “Bobbi” Gibbs as Director of the Graduate & Faculty Practices and charge her with meeting these goals.   Bobbi has eighteen years of experience with the School of Dentistry and is ideally suited to take on this new role.  She has many accomplishments but I would like to point out a few key ones related to her new responsibilities.   Bobbi has been involved with the evolution of all the graduate practices moving under VCU DFPA corporate structure.  This included experience in renovations, hiring and evaluating staff, setting office protocol & procedures and utilization of computer software.   Bobbi was a key leader involved with four software conversions while at the same time maintained her daily duties in the Private Practice and Advance Education Practice during these additional projects.  Bobbi will be working with and overseeing existing and newly appointed Practice Managers.  Bobbi will also be responsible for working with Department Chairs and program directors to implement this new vision and to implement their priorities for the individual practices.   Please join me in congratulating Bobbi into her new position.  I am confident that Bobbi has the experience needed to help us accomplish all our future practice goals.
