PRSA’s big month: May awards, luncheon meeting
It’s an exciting month for the Public Relations Society of America’s Richmond chapter.
The 71st annual PRSA awards ceremony kicks off with a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. May 24 at The Jefferson Hotel, 101 W. Franklin St. Join your VCU colleagues for drinks and dinner as PRSA recognizes the creativity, passion and professionalism within the PR industry. The awards presentation and dinner begin at 6:30 p.m. Register online.
“Communicating To Multicultural America” is the topic of PRSA’s May luncheon meeting noon-1:30 p.m. May 30 at Jefferson Lakeside Country Club, 1700 Lakeside Ave. Register online.
Andrew McCaskill, senior vice president of global communications and multicultural marketing for Nielsen, will explore data and research pointing to key demographic shifts in the United States – communities of color, millennials, gender/race and sexual orientation. Communicators today must not only develop communications strategies for inclusive audiences but also entire multicultural audiences, with messaging through a new lens. Our marketplace today is becoming more about multicultural consumers, who are driving decisions and carry more buying power.
