VCU students make finals of Spencer/RIMS Risk Management Challenge
Congratulations to VCU School of Business students Andrea Gooch, Olivia Guthrow, Brian Jeffries and Devin Li, and advisor Tim Cook. Their team has made the finals of the 2018 Spencer/RIMS Risk Management Challenge.
The Challenge is an 8-month long competition, where university teams compete to develop and present the most comprehensive risk management program based on a company’s case study. This year’s case champion is Sage, a UK-headquartered, FTSE100 business that is the market and technology leader for integrated accounting, payroll and payment systems.
The field was narrowed to eight schools from 26 based on papers submitted. Competing against the VCU team in the finals will be: British Columbia Institute of Technology, Nanyang Technological University, Peking University, Saint Joseph’s University, St. Mary’s University, Temple University, and University of Wisconsin – Madison.
These finalist teams will present their cases to judges on Sunday, April 15 at the RIMS 2018 Annual Conference & Exhibition in San Antonio. The top three teams will compete on Monday, April 16.
Best wishes to our VCU team. Let’s Go Rams!
