School of Business

VCU Blogs

Virginia Commonwealth University faculty and staff demonstrate their commitment every day through teaching, advising, mentoring, and acting as dedicated University citizens. Recently, VCU School of Business faculty and staff were recognized for taking that dedication one step further by donating the most in dollars of any school or program on the Monroe Park Campus during The Black and Gold and You Campaign. In addition to raising the most dollars, Business was also one of only three schools in the university to see more than 35% of their employees participate!

With gifts totaling more than $200,000, School of Business faculty and staff gave to many worthwhile funding opportunities including scholarships, student success initiatives, academic departments and other programmatic needs. Many also made unrestricted gifts to allow their dollars to be put to work in the neediest areas of the university. The campaign, which runs each year from July 1 – June 30th each year, counts any faculty or staff gift made to the University during that period.

“I’m so proud of our faculty and staff for their efforts. It’s an important indication of their level of commitment to our mission,” said Dean Ed Grier. Thank you to every faculty and staff member who helped Business be #1. This year’s campaign is already underway, and we look forward to reporting on another success!
